New multiplex court building inaugurated in Berhampur

A multiplex court building for functioning of different courts inside the district and civil court premises was inaugurated here.

Five Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) courts and lobby offices will be functioning in the 12,460 sq.Ft ground floor of the building which was inaugurated by acting chief justice of Odisha high court P K Mohanty yesterday.

Five JMFC and offices will run on the 11,451 sq.Ft first floor while on the 3,413 sq.Ft second floor, some offices, library and lobby will be functioning, official sources said.

Estimated cost of the project was around Rs 4.06 crore, sources added.

High court judges including Justices Indrajit Mohanty, and Sanju Panda, district and sessions judge M S Dhal and registrar Dolagovinda Barik along with several other judges attended the function.
 

"The new multiplex court building will help to solve the space crunch of functioning different courts," advocates said.
