Press Trust of India Bhubaneswar
Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) today said its New Plate Mill (NPM) has created yet another record by rolling out 4349 tonnes of slab on a single day, which is the highest ever.

The feat was achieved on October 7, a day after 4310 tonnes of Slab Rolling was achieved only on October 6, RSP said in a statement today.

This record breaking spree by NPM started in August, 2017 and is gathering momentum much to the happiness of all stakeholders, it said.

It is worth mentioning here that the NPM had established a new record in the monthly production and dispatch, with the best ever monthly performance since inception in all important parameters in the month of August this year, it said.

The Mill had rolled the highest ever 82390 tonnes of slab during the month producing 74041 tonnes of plates by utilising around 97.4 per cent of its capacity. The NPM collective is confident of rewriting this record, too.

Subhendra Das, ED (Works) said with immense potential, the NPM is putting RSP on a growth trajectory which is evident from the results for previous two months, he said.
