New Punjab and Har HC judge takes oath; strength rises to 48

Justice Kuldeep Singh was today sworn in as additional judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court.

With his elevation, the number of judges in the High Court rose to 48.

Chief Justice, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Sanjay Kishan Kaul administered the oath of office to the newly appointed judge inside the premises of the High Court.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chief Justice said that pending cases were being disposed off on priority basis by the court.

The appointment of new judges would further help in early disposal of such cases, he said.

Prior to his present assignment, Justice Kuldeep Singh was District and Session Judge in Punjab. He completed his primary education in his native place Jamsheirkhas in Punjab and passed LLB in 1980. He joined PCS (Judicial) in year 1982.
