A new regional party, Goa Forward, was today launched in the coastal state by former state election commissioner Prabhkar Timble ahead of the assembly elections scheduled held in 2017.
"Prime commitments of Goa Forward party are preserving land resources, creating employment, general welfare of the people and good governance," Timble, President of the party, told reporters here today.
He said the party is committed to Goa's inclusive development retaining the unique identity of the state.

Timble said the party plans to oust BJP from the power in 2017 goa state legislative assembly elections.
He said the stress would be for fresh faces in the elections and "positive politics."
"The party will have a proper mix of experience and youth. The 30-member executive committee will have ten women members and five students," he said, adding that the high command culture would be discouraged by the party.
Timble said there was trust deficit in the current government due to frequent U-turns taken by people in power.
"People are searching for an alternative political set up and we are providing it," he said.
