S Nagarajan today assumed charge as DIG of Police, Salem Range.
The range comprises the districts of Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri.
Talking to reporters here, Nagarajan, who was recently transferred and posted here, said he would ensure strict action against smuggling of ration rice and sand. Sexual offenders would be dealt with stern action.
Top police officials from the districts in the range were present.
