A new 'smart' pillow that gently nudges sleepers when they begin to snore has been developed.
The 'Snore Activated Nudging Pillow' contains a built-in microphone to detect the sonic vibrations particular to snoring.
When the noise levels from snoring start to escalate, the pillow inflates an internal bladder, causing the user to adjust their sleeping position.

The pillow, developed by New York-based Hammacher Schlemmer, has a 30-minute delay setting that allows one to fall asleep without triggering inflation and its contoured shape provides optimal head positioning for ameliorating snoring.
"The Snore Activated Nudging Pillow encourages one to change sleeping positions immediately after the first snore, reducing the chances that prolonged snoring will wake your partner," said Hammacher Schlemmer's General Manager Fred Berns.
The pillow costs USD 149.95.
