The government has initiated an Integrated Criminal Justice System (ICJS) which would make advanced searches of crime-related data easy, Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju told the Rajya Sabha today.
ICJS has been initiated on a pilot basis in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka, he said.
The objective is to provide an ecosystem for searching crime-related data from police, courts, prisons, prosecution, forensics and fingerprints, Rijiju said during the Question Hour.
A written reply tabled by Rijiju on behalf of his ministerial colleague Hansraj Ahir said that an amount of Rs 11 crore has been released to the National Informatics Centre for dashboard preparation, creation of search facility, integration of the six pillars etc for the project.
