: Newly appointed Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu Girija Vaidyanathan today called on Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao at the Raj Bhavan here.
"The meeting was a courtesy call," a Raj Bhavan statement said.
Vaidyanathan was last week appointed as Chief Secretary, replacing P Rama Mohana Rao, whose residence and office had come under Income Tax searches.
The Chief Secretary's meeting with the Governor came on a day when Rao responded to the raids and his removal, saying he continued to be the state's top official as no transfer order had been served on him.
