New Zealand invite Sri Lanka to bat in virtual quarterfinal

New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum won the toss and elected to bowl against Sri Lanka in a virtual quarer-final clash of the ICC World Twenty20 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, here today.

Sri Lanka, who are playing without regular skipper Dinesh Chandimal due to one-match suspension on him, have Lahiru Thirimanne in the batting line up. They have also replaced Ajantha Mendis with Rangana Herath.

Lasith Malinga is leading the Sri Lankan side.

New Zealand: Brendon McCullum (C), Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, Corey Anderson, Jimmy Neesham, Luke Ronchi, Nathan McCullum, TA Boult, Kyle Mills and Mitchell McClenaghan.
 

Sri Lanka: Lasith Malinga (C), Kusal Perera, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara, Angelo Mathews, Lahiru Thirimanne, Thisara Perera, Nuwan Kulasekara, S Senanayake and Rangana Herath.
