Officials say a New Zealander has been shot and killed in Argentina during an attempted robbery.
New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade issued a short statement today saying it is aware of the New Zealander's death in the city of Mendoza and that staff from its Buenos Aires embassy are in touch with local authorities trying to find out more details.
The deceased was initially incorrectly identified by some officials and media as Australian.
