Veteran actor Nana Patekar believes a film with debutants is always more special as they don't have any inhibition while working.

Patekar attended the launch of veteran action director Shyam Kaushal's younger son Sunny's debut film "Sunshine Music Tours and Travels", yesterday.

The film sees producer Shailendra Singh turning director for the first time.

Addressing the director, Nana said, "You have taken all new kids. I remembered 'Ankush' days, when N Chandra had taken all new kids and I was one of them. Such films hold more importance, there are no inhibitions in the way these kids work..."

The 65-year-old actor said it is difficult to gauge the interest of viewers as they seem to make even bad films a hit.

"Don't know about the public, what film they like. Good films don't work and 'behuda' (bad) films work. So what can I say about your film, (just), all the best."

Nana and Shyam, whose elder son Vicky Kaushal is also an actor, have been friends for more than 20 years now.

Shyam said it was a special moment that the "Ab Tak Chhappan" actor came to support his son Sunny on his big day.

"Nana ji is like an elder brother to me. There are relations which are not blood relations, and our relation is beyond that. He had given me break with 'Prahaar' and as a father, there couldn't have been a bigger moment that he is here to bless my son," Shyam said.

"He stood by me, not only professionally, but also personally, when I was dying in the hospital and there was no chance of me surviving, he was the person who was standing in the operation theatre till I became conscious."

Remembering the tough time, Nana said, "When he was very critical and they were taking him to the operation theatre, he said, 'sell the flat that we purchased and shift the family into a small flat, if something happens to me'. I told him, 'first die, only then I will be able to do something'."

Also present at the event were Vicky, director Madhur Bhandarkar and cricketer Kapil Dev.

"Sunshine Music Tours and Travels" is scheduled to release on September 2.
