Newly wed MP poor couples to get Rs 12K to construct toilets

The Madhya Pradesh government plans to pay Rs 12,000 to construct toilets to poor couple entering wedlock under a state government sponsored mass marriage scheme.

According to a state government press release issued here today, under the Mukhya Manti Kanyadaan Yojana only those couples whose houses lack toilets would get financial help.

MP Chief Secretary Anthony DeSa apprised Union Cabinet Secretary P K Sinha about this decision while elaborating about ongoing works under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in rural areas during a video conference yesterday, the release stated.

Under the initiative, 19 lakh toilets will be constructed in rural MP and district collectors have been asked to work in this direction, the release stated.
 

To execute this mission, 7,000 masons in 17 districts and 10,000 volunteers in 32 districts will be trained, it added.
