The Orissa High Court today completed hearing on the bail application of newspaper owner Madhu Mohanty, arrested in connection with the multi-crore chit fund scam in Odisha, and reserved its verdict.

The single-judge bench of Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo was hearing the bail application of Mohanty, who was arrested by CBI in September.

Mohanty was taken into custody after he was questioned by the central investigating agency and was taken on a remand by CBI.

He had approached the high court last month after his bail applications were rejected by the designated CBI court and subsequently by the Khurda District and Sessions court.
