Ashraf told reporters in Lahore that he wants to use his position to revive international cricket in Pakistan.
"We will not rest until international cricket returns to Pakistan. We are taking several measures for this and one of them is that I have scheduled a meeting of the development committee in Lahore by October," Ashraf said.
No Test-playing nation has toured Pakistan since March, 2009 when terrorists attacked the Sri Lankan team in Lahore killing six Pakistani policemen and a van driver and wounding five of the visiting players.
Ashraf announced that the PCB was planning to hold a three-nation international tournament very soon in Pakistan.
"Afghanistan has agreed to play in the event with Pakistan while we are negotiating with some other boards for the third team," he said.
Ashraf said he expected a positive development very soon on the proposal to hold the three-nation event.
The PCB chief also felt that by accepting the invitation from the BCCI to tour India in December for a short one-day series would also have a positive impact on the chances of international teams coming to Pakistan.
"Not only will this bilateral series further friendly relations between the two countries but also help us convince teams to play in Pakistan. India will be invited to send its team to Pakistan in the near future," he said.
