Actor Patrick Stewart has said he and Ian McKellen will not return for the sequel to their 2014 hit 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'.
Stewart played Professor X and McKellen starred as Magneto in the movie but the eighth film of the series does not have space for their roles, reported Variety.
'X-Men: Apocalypse' will reportedly focus on characters of James McAvoy (young professor X), Michael Fassbinder (young Magneto) and Jennifer Lawrence.

"I was learning quite a lot more about it last night, and it is going to be looking very much at the earlier lives of all our characters. And so I don't think we'll be making an appearance. Nor Sir Ian McKellen, either," Stewart said.
The Bryan Singer-directed film will hit theatres on May 27, 2016 with Oscar Isaac in the role of the main antagonist.
