Nexus 5X, 6P to hit Indian shores by October-end

Google is expected to unveil the much-awaited Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P in India by the end of October to cash in on the festive season demand.

Google announced the launch of the flagship devices from its popular Nexus range in the US yesterday. The new Nexus 5X has been manufactured by LG, while 6P is made by Huawei.

According to sources, the new devices will be available in the Indian market, both online and offline, by the end of next month.

This will help the company to take advantage of the festive season, they added.

According to the information available on Google Play Store, Nexus 5X will be priced at Rs 31,900 (for 16GB variant) and Rs 35,900 (32GB), while Nexus 6P will be available at Rs 39,999 (32GB) and Rs 42,999 (64GB) in India.
 

The Nexus devices are available for pre-order on the Google Store in few countries, including the US, the UK, Ireland and Japan.

In the US, the Nexus 5X is priced at USD 379 (about Rs 24,900 for 16GB model) and the Nexus 6P at USD 499 (about Rs 32,800 for 32GB model).

Google's rival has also announced the availability of its latest iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus in India from October 16 to grab a share of the festive sales around Diwali.

Google is expected to introduce the devices, which will come loaded with the latest Android Marshmallow operating system, for online sale in partnership with two e-commerce firms in India.

The Nexus 5X features a 5.2-inch screen, 2 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB RAM, 12.3 MP rear and 5MP front camera and a 2,700 mAh battery.

The Nexus 6P features a 5.7-inch screen, 1.8 GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 2GB RAM, 12.3 MP rear and 8MP front camera and a 3,450 mAh battery.

Both the devices feature fingerprint sensors and fast charging (with USB Type-C port).

Google has also slashed the price of the Nexus 6 in India to Rs 33,800 (for 32GB), while the 64GB variant would now be available for Rs 37,600.

The company also showcased the next-generation Chromecast streaming devices and its improved personal assistant 'Now on Tap'.
