NFR cancels 5 trains, diverts 7 others

Five trains scheduled for tomorrow have been cancelled and seven others diverted due to prevailing floods in Lower Assam and track restoration work, North-East Frontier Railway said today.

In a statement, the NF Railway spokesman said rail tracks have been breached at 16 places in the New Bongaigaon- Goalpara-Kamakhya section of Rangiya division due to massive floods in the last few days.

Track restoration work is also going on between Aujuri- Sonuabari in Lumding division, he said.

NFR has cancelled the 55805/55804 New Bongaigaon- Guwahati-New Bongaigaon passenger, 05818 Dhubri-Alipurduar special, 55608 Silghat Town-Guwahati passenger, 55604 Mairabari-Guwahati passenger, while the 55611 Fakiragram- Kamakhya passenger has been partially cancelled between New Bongaigaon and Kamakhya.
 

The spokesman said seven other trains scheduled for tomorrow have been diverted.
