The National Food Security Act would be implemented in Jharkhand from June one this year and 86 per cent of the population would benefit under the act, Chief Minister Raghubar Das has said.
"The act will be implemented from June one. Eighty-six per cent of the people will get the benefit," Das said yesterday.
He added that new ration cards would be distributed by then.
The beneficiaries would get rice and wheat, he said, adding, he made the promise to implement the act in the state assembly last month.
