A city-based NGO has planned to set up a small community centre in a backward village in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's constituency here to mark International Happiness Day tomorrow.

A small community centre in the village would be set up, where a teacher will be appointed to impart education to villagers of all sections of society and ages, so as to bring happiness to them, Khushali NGO founder Sanjay Gupta told reporters.

Gupta, also a psychiatrist at the Banaras Hindu University, said, the NGO also plans to adopt the village and "if our efforts bear fruits then this model will be replicated at other places too."

Various events will be organised by us tomorrow to mark the occasion in the village, he said.

Udayrajpur is one of the most backward village of the district, with a small population of around 2,500 people and lacks basic facilities, he added.
