NHM employees stage protest, demand regularisation

Contractual employees working under the National Health Mission (NHM) scheme in Jammu and Kashmir today staged a protest here demanding regularisation of their services.

Hundreds of employees, including doctors, paramedical staff and technicians of the health department, who are working on contractual basis under the NHM, from different districts of the Valley assembled at the Pratap Park in the commercial hub Lal Chowk here and started protesting, officials said.

They said the protesting employees shouted slogans against the state government and demanded their services be regularised.

The employees demanded they should also be included in the list of 60,000 employees who are to be regularised as recently announced by the government, the officials said.
 

They said the employees warned the government of severe agitation if their demand was not met.
