NHPC board to consider proposal to raise Rs 3.8K cr on July 30

State-owned hydro power giant NHPC said today that its board will consider two proposals to raise Rs 3,800 crore via bonds on private placement basis at its meeting on July 30.

"The Board of Directors of NHPC Ltd in its meeting 30th July, 2018 will consider a proposal for raising of corporate debentures/bonds aggregating to Rs 3,300 crore on Private Placement Basis subject to Shareholders' Approval through special resolution in the ensuing Annual General Meeting of the Company," it said in a BSE filing.

In another filing, NHPC said the board will also consider the proposal for "raising of Rs 500 crore through issuance of debentures/bonds in one or more series/ tranches on private placement basis from domestic market and/or to raise term loans from domestic financial institutions/Banks in suitable tranches".

 

The proposed issue of Rs 500 crore is part of Rs 2,000 crore raise already approved by the shareholders at the 41st Annual General Meeting of company held on September 27, 2017.
