NHPC restores fully Chutak station in J-K

State-run NHPC today said it has completely restored its Chutak power station in Jammu and Kashmir after its temporary closure for over a month.

"Chutak Power Station has been completely restored on September 10, 2015," the company said in a regulatory filing.

The company on June 28 completely shutdown Chutak power station due to sudden increase in water level in unit 3 and 4 of the project.

Chutak power station is run-of-the-river scheme with an installed capacity of 44 MW (4X11 MW) and harnesses the Hydropower potential of river Suru in Kargil district of Jammu & Kashmir.

The barrage of the power station is located near village Sarzhe and the power house is located on right bank of river Suru near village Chutak.
