The National Human Rights Commission took cognisance of reports that farm labourer Joginder Singh was allegedly beaten to death after plucking vegetables from someone else's field and asked the two officials to file the report within four weeks, an official statement said.
"The Commission has observed that the contents of the press report, if true, raise a serious issue of violation of human rights of the deceased," NHRC said.
