 "NIA officer shot dead in Uttar Pradesh")
An officer from the National Investigation Agency, Tanzil Ahmad, was shot dead while his wife was injured by bike-borne assailants. He, along with his family, was returning from the wedding of a relative in the wee hours here.
"He along with his wife was returning from the wedding of his niece when two unidentified bike-borne persons stopped his car and shot at him. He was declared dead at a nearby hospital," Rajkumar, SHO, Bijnor, said.

His wife sustained injuries in the attack and has been admitted to a hospital in Noida.
The official had gone to his home town Bijnor to attend the wedding.
The Police are said to be investigating the matter.
