Agency (NIA) sleuths today reached Kolhapur, where police are interrogating Sanatan Sanstha-member Samir Gaikwad in connection with the murder of rationalist and Left leader Govind Pansare.

"Yes, the NIA team has reached Kolhapur," Special IG, Kolhapur, Sanjay Kumar Verma, told PTI this evening.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra police officials today continued to interrogate Gaikwad, an active member of the right-wing outfit who was arrested earlier this week.

NIA had probed the involvement of Sanatan Sanstha members in the Madgaon bomb-blast case in Goa in 2009.

Pansare, 82, and his wife, Uma, were shot at by two motorcycle-borne youths on February 16, 2015, near their home in Kolhapur. Pansare died four days later at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. His wife survived the attack, but suffered injuries that have crippled her.
