Nick Cannon to be honoured for charity work

The "America's Got Talent" host will be feted at the 2012 Common Sense Media Awards in San Francisco tomorrow.

The awards are handed out annually to celebrities and dignitaries who recognise the challenges of raising children in a digital world, reported Contactmusic.

"Honored to receive an award from @CommonSenseNews this week for my efforts as an entertainer and advocate!", posted Cannon on his twitter page.

Cannon, 31, who is a father to twins with his wife Mariah Carey, recently flew in to meet politicians in Washington, DC and voice his support for a new bill which aims to increase internet privacy laws to protect children.

 

Fellow honourees at the 2012 Common Sense Media Awards include Disney singer/actress Bridgit Claire Mendler, writer/filmmaker Jean Kilbourne and director Jennifer Siebel Newsom. PTI CORR
