The 38-year-old says he is excited about fatherhood and says he is looking forward to everything - except for changing nappies, reported People magazine online.
"I can't even explain how excited I am. For someone who has wanted a family for such a long time, I've looked forward to this moment. Now that it's almost here, it's awesome," he said.
Lachey, who was previously married to Jessica Simpson, wed presenter Vanessa in June 2011.
