Nickel climbs on rising demand

Nickel climbed at the non-ferrous metal market here today on sustained stockists' buying amidst rising demand from alloy industries.

Elsewhere, copper, brass, zinc, lead and tin also gained owing to good demand from industrial users.

Nickel surged by Rs 55 per kg to Rs 905 from Wednesday's close at Rs 850 and tin recouped by Rs 20 per kg to Rs 1,400 as against Rs 1,380 yesterday.

Copper cable scrap and copper billets rose by Rs 8 per kg each to Rs 457 and Rs 485 as compared to yesterday's close of Rs 449 and Rs 477, respectively.

Copper scrap heavy increased by Rs 6 per kg to Rs 448 from Rs 442.
 

Copper armature and brass sheet cuttings moved up by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 440 and Rs 345 as against Rs 435 and Rs 340, respectively.

Copper utensils, copper sheet cuttings and zinc edged up by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 415, Rs 434 and Rs 248 as compared Rs 412, Rs 431 and Rs 245, respectively.

Brass utensils scrap and lead inched up per kg each to Rs 333 and Rs 175, respectively.
