Nickel continues to firm up on sustained demand

Nickel prices continued its uptrend at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists buying amid sustained demand from alloy industries.

Meanwhile, select copper and aluminium utensils eased due to stockist selling following lower demand from industrial users.

Nickel shot-up by Rs 40 per kg to Rs 1,150 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 1,110.

Copper utensils scrap, aluminium ingots and lead inched-up by a Re per kg each to Rs 464, Rs 155 and Rs 144, respectively.

However, copper sheet cutting declined by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 475 from Rs 479.

Aluminium utensils moved down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 129 from Rs 131.
 

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper armiture and copper wire bar softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 493, Rs 488, Rs 481 and Rs 521. Respectively.
