Nickel, copper firm up on good demand

Nickel and copper prices firmed up at the non-ferrous metal market here today following sustained stockists buying amid good demand from industrial users.

While, tin and lead softened owing to poor offtake from alloy industries.

Nickel prices rose by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 900 from Tuesday's close Rs 890 and copper scrap heavy moved up by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 398 as compared Rs 394 yesterday.

Copper cable scrap, copper armiture, copper utensils, copper wire bar and copper sheet cuttings edged up by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 403, Rs 381, Rs 365, Rs 431 and Rs 375 as against Rs 400, Rs 378, Rs 362, Rs 428 and Rs 372 respectively.
 

However, tin prices slipped by Rs 20 per kg to Rs 1,680 from yesterday's close Rs 1,700 and lead edged down by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 152 as against Rs 155.
