Nickel, copper remain weak on reduced offtake

Prices of nickel and copper drifted further lower by upto Rs 5 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today due to reduced industrial demand amid a weak global trend.

Traders said besides subdued demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market and a weak trend overseas mainly kept pressure on nickel and copper prices.

In the national capital, nickel plate (4x4) and copper mixed scrap declined by Rs 5 and Rs 2 to Rs 835-840 and Rs 373 per kg respectively.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot Rs 107-113, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 835-840, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 373, chadri deshi Rs 295.
 

Lead ingot Rs 92, lead imported Rs 98, aluminium ingots Rs 156, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 152, aluminium wire scrap Rs 152 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 150.
