Nickel edges up on scattered demand

Nickel prices edged higher by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous market today due to pick up in demand from consuming industries.

Traders said increased demand from consuming industries led to rise in nickel prices.

In the national capital, nickel plate (4x4) inched up by Rs 2 to Rs 837-842 per kg.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot Rs 96-102, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 837-842, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 358, chadri deshi Rs 295.

Lead ingot Rs 83, lead imported Rs 89, aluminium ingots Rs 154, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 150, aluminium wire scrap Rs 150 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 148.
