Nickel falls on lacklustre trade

Nickel prices fell further at the non-ferrous metal market here today on consistent stockist selling, amidst subdued demand from alloy industries.

Elsewhere, select copper eased on reduced offtake from industrial users.

The industrial metals edged-up at the LME, after finishing unchanged in the previous session, but was on track for its biggest monthly loss since June as slowing demand growth from top consumer China dragged on prices.

Nickel dropped by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 990 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 995.

Copper sheet cutting moved down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 494 to Rs 496.
 

Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar softened by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 501 and Rs 529 respectively.

However, copper armature, copper utensils scrap and brass utensils scrap inched-up by a Re per kg each to Rs 481, Rs 456 and Rs 345.
