Nickel falls on lower demand

Meanwhile, select base metals edged up on better offtake from industrial users.

The industrial metals trading listless at the LME following the dollar rise, though hopes for more economic stimulus in China and the United States, which would boost demand for industrial metals, kept a floor under prices.

Nickel dropped by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,050 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 1,055.

Copper utensils scrap and Zinc also softened by a rupee per kg each to Rs 436 and Rs 134.

However, Copper cable scrap, Copper scrap heavy, copper wire bar, Bar sheets cuttings and lead looked up by a rupee per kg to Rs 479, Rs 472, Rs 507, Rs 325 and Rs 123, respectively.
