Nickel firms up on sustained demand

Nickel prices firmed up at the non-ferrous metals market here today on stockists' buying amid good demand from alloy industries.

Elsewhere, select copper and zinc also edged up owing to good demand from industrial users.

While brass utensils scrap and tin slipped due to subdued demand from industrial users.

Nickel prices rose by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 715 from Tuesday's close at Rs 710.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper billets, copper sheet cuttings and zinc inched up to Rs 425, Rs 415, Rs 453, Rs 398 and Rs 230, respectively.

However, tin declined by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,395 as against Rs 1,400 yesterday and brass utensils scrap softened by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 298 from Rs 300.
