Amid a weak trend in the spot markets on subdued domestic demand, nickel fell 0.62% to Rs 1,076.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in April shed Rs 6.70 paise, or 0.62%, to Rs 1,076.60 per kg in a business turnover of 815 lots.
The metal for delivery in May also fell by Rs 6.80, or 0.62%, to Rs 1,083.10 per kg in a turnover of 74 lots.
Analysts said the fall in nickel prices at futures trade was mostly in tandem with a weakening trend in the domestic spot markets due to subdued demand from alloy-makers.
