Nickel falls by 0.4% on subdued demand

Participants reduced their exposures amid subdued demand at the domestic spot markets

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Nickel futures eased 0.39% to Rs 667.10 per kg today as participants reduced their exposures amid subdued demand at the domestic spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in September fell by Rs 3.60, or 0.39%, to Rs 667.10 per kg in a business turnover of 662 lots.

The metal for delivery in October fell Rs 2.60, or 0.38%, to trade at Rs 674.80 per kg in a turnover of 15 lots.

Marketmen said apart from low demand form alloy-makers at domestic spot markets, weakness in copper and other base metals in Asian trade, kept pressure on nickel prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, the London Metal Exchange (LME) is closed for a public holiday.
