Nickel prices fell 1.60 per cent to Rs 690.20 per kg in futures trade today as traders reduced their exposure, driven by easing demand from consuming industries at spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in November declined by Rs 11.20, or 1.60 per cent to Rs 690.20 per kg in business turnover of 618 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in October month contracts traded lower by Rs 10.70, or 1.54 per cent to Rs 684.70 per kg in 11,998 lots.

Market analysts said thee fall in nickel prices at futures trade was attributed to subdued demand from alloy-makers at the domestic spot markets.
