Nickel falls by 0.4% on muted demand

A weakening trend at the domestic spot markets also affected prices

Nickel falls by 0.4% on muted demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Taking weak cues from domestic spot market due to muted demand, nickel prices dropped 0.37% to Rs 677 per kg in futures trade today as participants trimmed their bets.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in October was trading Rs 2.50, or 0.37%, down at Rs 677 per kg in a business turnover of 444 lots.

The metal for delivery in November also shed Rs 2.10, or 0.31%, to Rs 684 per kg in a turnover of 35 lots.

Analysts said the fall in nickel prices in futures trade is mostly attributed to a weakening trend at the domestic spot markets due to easing demand from alloy-makers but metal's strength overseas, limited the losses.
