Nickel prices rose 0.11% to Rs 789.40 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions on increased demand from alloy makers even as metals weakened overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in April traded higher by 90 paise or 0.11% to Rs 789.40 per kg in a business turnover of 581 lots.
Also, metal for delivery in May traded higher by a similar margin at Rs 797.30 per kg in 28 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in nickel futures to a firm trend at the domestic spot markets following increased demand from alloy-makers but metal's weakness overseas, limited the gains.
