Nickel futures slide 0.24% on muted demand

Amid tepid demand at domestic spot markets and profit-booking by speculators, nickel prices eased by 0.24 per cent to Rs 572.70 per kg in futures trade today.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in June declined by Rs 1.40, or 0.24 per cent to Rs 572.70 per kg in business turnover of 455 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in July contracts traded lower by Rs 1.30, or 0.22 pr cent to Rs 578.00 per kg in 33 lots.

Analysts said the fall in nickel prices in futures trade after participants cut down their holdings amid easing demand from alloy-makers at domestic spot market.
