Nickel prices fell by 1.89 per cent to Rs 680 per kg in futures trading today as traders booked profits at prevailing levels amid a weak trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in January month fell by Rs 13.10, or 1.89 per cent to Rs 680 per kg in business turnover of 10,773 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in February contracts moved down by Rs 12.70, or 1.82 per cent to Rs 686.10 per kg in 1,038 lots.
Analysts said besides profit-booking by participants, a weak trend overseas led to decline in nickel prices at futures trade.
