Nickel prices rose 0.27 per cent to Rs 890.30 per kg in futures trade in the evening session today as speculators enlarged their exposures largely supported by high spot demand.
The exchange opened for the evening session as it remained closed in the morning for 'Budha Purnima'.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in June rose by Rs 2.10, or 0.27 per cent to Rs 890.30 per kg in business turnover of 17 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in nickel futures to a better demand from alloy-makers in the spot market but absence of cues from London Metal Exchange, limited the gains.
