Nickel prices rose 0.47% to Rs 869.40 per kg in the futures market today after speculators built-up positions amid a firming trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
Besides, increased demand in spot markets from domestic alloy-makers, influenced nickel prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in March gained Rs 4.10, or 0.47%, to Rs 869.40 per kg in a business turnover of 786 lots.

Globally, nickel gained 0.7% to $13,875 per tonne at the LME.
