Nickel prices went up by 0.76 per cent to Rs 1,022.30 per kg in futures trade today as speculators raised their bets, driven by a firming trend at the domestic spot market on strong demand.
In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in June rose Rs 7.70 or 0.76 per cent to Rs 1,022.10 per kg in a business turnover of 1,884 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in July spurted by Rs 7.50 or 0.74 per cent to Rs 1,026.40 per kg in 283 lots.
Analysts said raising of bets by participants, largely on the back of increased demand from alloy-makers at domestic markets, influenced nickel futures here.
