Amid subdued demand at the domestic spot market, nickel prices fell 0.20 per cent to Rs 592.50 per kg in futures trade today as participants cut down their bets.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in April was trading lower by Rs 1.20, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 592.50 per kg, in a business turnover of 581 lots.

The metal for delivery in May also fell by a similar margin to trade at Rsshed 30 paise, or 598.60 per kg in a turnover of 48 lots.

Analysts said the fall is mostly in line with a weakening trend in the base metals at the domestic spot markets due to slackened demand from consuming industries, particularly from alloy-makers.
