Nickel prices zoomed at the non-ferrous metal market here today on sustained stockists buying amid heavy demand from alloy industries.
Rest all other base metals, including tin, zinc and select copper, also surged owing to sustained demand from industrial users.
Nickle prices spurted by Rs 35 per kg to Rs 720 from Tuesday's closing level Rs 685 and tin also climbed by Rs 8 per kg to Rs 1,303 from Rs 1,295 yesterday.
Zinc, copper wire bar and copper cable scrap rose by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 169, Rs 408 and Rs 380 as against Rs 165, Rs 404 and Rs 376 previously.
Copper scrap heavy, copper armiture, copper utensils, copper sheet cuttings, brass utensils scrap and brass sheet cuttings also moved up by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 374, Rs 368, Rs 347, Rs 363, Rs 280 and Rs 283 as compared to Rs 371, Rs 365, Rs 344, Rs 360, Rs 277 and Rs 280 respectively.
