Nickel, lead advance on rising demand

Nickel and lead advanced at the non-ferrous metals market here today following stockists' buying amid rising demand from alloy industries.

Elsewhere, zinc rebounded owing to renewed demand from alloy industries.

Select copper and tin eased owing to lower demand from industrial users.

Nickel prices surged by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,035 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 1,025 and lead rose by Rs 8 per kg to Rs 178 as against Rs 170.

Zinc regained by a rupee per kg to Rs 235.

On the other hand, tin went down by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,470 as against Rs 1,480 and copper utensils edged down by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 448 from Rs 450.

 

Copper sheet cuttings softened by a rupee per 10 kg to Rs 470.
