Nickel, lead edge up on rise in demand

Prices of nickel and lead edged higher by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today on increased demand from consuming industries.

Traders said pick-up in demand from consuming industries led to the rise in nickel and lead prices.

In the national capital, nickel plate (4x4) rose by Rs 2 to Rs 862-867, while lead ingot and lead imported rose higher by a similar margin to Rs 90 and Rs 96 per kg, respectively.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot Rs 103-109, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 862-867, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 378, chadri deshi Rs 295.
 

Lead ingot Rs 90, lead imported Rs 96, aluminium ingots Rs 154, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 150, aluminium wire scrap Rs 150 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 148, respectively.
