Nickel moves up on pickup in industrial demand

Nickel prices rose by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metals market today on increased industrial demand, particularly from alloy-makers.

However, other base metal held steady in thin trade.

Traders said pick up in industrial demand mainly influenced nickel prices.

In the national capital, nickel plate (4x4) advanced by Rs 2 Rs 1,062-1,067 per kg.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot Rs 116-122, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 1,062-1,067, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 410, Chadri deshi Rs 285.

Lead ingot Rs 101, Lead imported Rs 102, Aluminium ingots Rs 158, Aluminium sheet cutting Rs 159, Aluminium wire scrap Rs 161 and Aluminium utensils scrap Rs 158.
